Frequently Asked Questions

What do I wear?

Loose fitting shorts and a loose fitting t-shirt (preferably sleeveless) or sports bra when applicable. Myofascial Release works best with skin to skin contact. You may change when you arrive.

How should I prepare for treatment?

Drink plenty of water before and after. Constricted fascia is dehydrated. As it releases it pulls water from other parts of the body, so it is important to be hydrated before and after.

Please do not apply lotion before treatment. Many MFR techniques require friction to maintain gentle tension. Lotion makes many of these techniques very difficult or impossible.

Can I eat lunch before treatment?

Yes, but not a feast. Treatment often puts the body into “rest and digest” mode, so you don’t want to be on an empty or very full stomach.

What payments do you accept?

I accept Cash, Credit, Check, Zelle and Venmo.

Do you accept FSA/HSA?

Yes, but you cannot pay/book directly through the website (this may change in the future). To use and FSA/HSA card, choose the service you would like to book from the Booking & Rates page. Look at the calendar for available dates and times, then text me the date and time you would like. I can collect your FSA/HSA card information at our appointment.

Do you accept insurance?

No, but I can provide an invoice for you to submit for reimbursement. To increase your chances of reimbursement, I recommend getting a referral from your Primary Care Doctor.

Is there an elevator?

Yes! Let me know ahead of time and I will let you in the elevator entrance at 925 Irving St.

Is there a bathroom?

Yes, we have one gender-neutral bathroom.

Is your office scent free?

Yes, I do ask that you refrain from applying scented lotion, perfume or cologne. Some of my clients are very sensitive to these products and many perfumes and colognes stir up my own sinuses.

Can I use my favorite CBD or THC product to help me relax?

This is NOT recommended. Drugs and alcohol cause inflammation which can complicate treatment. They also dull pain receptors and can increase risk of feeling sore or overstretched.

Does your phone number receive texts?

Yes, feel free to text 415-483-2550 (or call or email) with any questions or booking inquiries.
